Erykah Badu is going after Papoose for allegedly using her vocals without getting permission. Badu took to Twitter last week to blast Papoose for putting vocals that she claims she sang ten years ago on his new track "Cure."
Badu writes that Papoose is putting out her "old material" and adds that there was "no paperwork" giving the rapper permission to use her vocals.
This papoose song Cure.I sang those vocals 10 years ago. That's 2 babies ago.Sheeeit.So mcs just throwing out old material- no paperwork..— ErykahBadoula (@fatbellybella) March 27, 2013
Papoose later responded on his account, writing that Badu's accusations of there not being any paperwork were "false." He also questioned why Badu would not be happy to "create awareness" for people living with AIDS and cancer, subjects which Papoose tackles on "Cure."
"Cure" is supposed to be featured on Papoose's upcoming album "The Nacimera Dream."
