Fat Joe is headed to prison for four months for tax evasion. The "Newark Star-Ledger" reports the rapper was sentenced on Monday for failing to pay taxes on more than $2 million dollars of income for 2007 and 2008.
In addition to the four months behind bars, Fat Joe - born Joe Cartagena - will also have to serve one year of supervised release and pay a $15,000 fine. After sentencing, the rapper's attorney Jeffrey Lichtman claims Joe was "badly served by his accountants."
In December, the rapper pleaded guilty to failing to file tax returns in 2007 and 2008. While he has already paid back more than $700,000, he still owes another $1.6 million dollars. Fat Joe has to begin serving his sentence by August 26th.
